Fuerte Amador, Panama

January 25-26, 2026

Today in Panama we got a tour of the canal. Sadly, no boats were going through, but Mal did get a picture of the small locomotives that are used to control ships going through the old canal. They’re called donkeys or mules because that’s what pulled the ships through when the canal was first opened.

On the way back, about a mile from the ship, the driver pulled over because he saw something in a tree. Turned out to be a sloth.

We’ll write again after Los Angeles,

Dottie and Mal
