Manzanillo, Mexico

January 30, 2026

We think the harbor at Manzanillo is probably the most beautiful harbor we’ve ever seen in sixty years of sailing and travel. The combination of attractive hills and small boats is unbeatable.

This view is from our stateroom balcony.

We took a standard bus tour that included driving by this hotel where the movie ‘10’ was made.

We ate very local tacos and ‘langostinos a la diabla’ which translates to spicy shrimp. Very good, and so far, no problems.

Here’s the langostinos a la diabla.

Manzanillo is called the sail fishing capital of the world.

The good-sized monument to sail fishing.

We’ll write again after Los Angeles,

It is the largest-producing municipality for the business sector and tourism in the small state of Colima. The city has been referred to as the “sailfish capital of the world”. Since 1957, it has hosted national and international fishing competitions, such as the Dorsey Tournament.
